![]() My biscuit arrived cold, although they apologized and were glad to re-heat it when asked. ( I find that many restaurants do not have good sweet tea, but theirs is very good.) The servers kept our sweet teas filled. As soon as I took a sip, I commented that the sweet tea was good. We both liked the chicken, although we wished the serving size was larger on the chicken as well as the sides. I chose a biscuit for my bread and pickled beets and broccoli salad for my sides. He chose whole wheat toast for his bread, and fresh fruit, and deviled eggs (2 halves) for his sides. Hubby and I both ordered the Grilled Chicken Cordon Bleu and sweet tea. A huge blackboard lists highlights of the menu, vegetables being served that day, and daily specials. I also liked that each table is already set with a generous selection of condiments : salt, pepper, hot sauce, ketchup, coffee creamer, real butter and a wide selection of jellies. As soon as a booth or table is empty, someone is ready to sit down and fill it. As two men were getting ready to sit in the booth behind us, the server already knew what they wanted to drink - based on prior visits, I guess. Based on the friendly conversations between diners and diners and staff, everyone pretty much knew everyone else. Apparently, this is the restaurant equivalent of the TV show Cheers - where everybody knows your name. This was our first visit to this popular local restaurant. There's a lot to like about the Wallburg Diner. This is a popular spot, so finding parking can be a bit of a challenge. ![]() Based on good reviews on TripAdvisor, we had lunch at the Wallburg Diner today.
